Our lawyers have spent years working with clients in the insurance industry that have matters and transactions before the Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI). We regularly assist our insurance clients with various matters, including: (1) navigating through rate and form filing disputes; (2) defending insurers during market conduct and financial examinations; (3) representing insurers and private equity firms in the purchase and sale of insurance companies; (4) assisting insurers obtain a certificate of insurance to write, price, and sell insurance products in Colorado; (5) defending insurers and insurance producers in DOI investigations; (6) ensuring compliance with DOI regulations and bulletins; and (7) representing insurers and insurance producers in DOI rule-making hearings.
Political Engagement
We are actively engaged in the election process which results in the election of new members of the General Assembly every election cycle. It is important to develop those relationships early on and educate policy-makers on the interests of our clients. We actively participate in an extensive legislative candidate interview and endorsement process each election cycle. Through that process, we have met and interviewed hundreds of candidates at the onset of their legislative careers and maintained those relationships for years thereafter. Finally, because we represent clients willing to issue campaign contributions during the interim, we can raise funds for both Democratic and Republican legislative candidates and build strong working relationships with these candidates.
